Description
Vitacom M5000L L-Band Modem – we are fairly sure that this is a private label Datum modem. This modem is older than me. To give you an idea of my age, when I learned to drive as a young man, the instructor taught me how to hitch my vehicle to a fence post.
I digress; the modem is working, but part of it is missing. There is a hole in the back where additional interfaces would normally be installed.
A strange thing about Datum L-Band modems is that they don’t have a 24V or 48V BUC power supply on-board. To provide a BUC with DC power you must apply the 24V or 48V to back of the modem. The modem uses a BIAS T internally to merge the DC voltage to the RF signal to connect to a BUC.
Offered AS-IS.
