Description
CPI VZC6967AM 700W C-Band TWT BUC appears to have very low hous except for time spent testing.
It shows 596 Beam on hours and 669 Heater hours. CPI installed a BUC on the input effectively converting the TWTA to a high-power BUC. They also sold this amplifier with a built-in linearizer ensuring accurate output across the entire frequency range of 5.845-6.650 GHz.
RF Output Power
750 W peak power class
Rated output at TWT flange: typically 700–750 W
Linear output: ~350–450 W depending on linearizer and backoff
Meets IESS‑308/309 phase noise and linearity requirements
We sent it to our engineer facility with instructions to test and report any failures
Equipment Repairs-CPI VXC6967AM serial #C11620L9 rack mount c-Band s/BUC.
Complaint: Check for proper function
Evaluation: Unit powers up with occasional flicker on standby LED. L-Band input does not require 10 MHz. Reference. L to C conversion 2.5 above normal. Spectral regrowth 320 watts or better with C/I @ 28 db. for most of bandwidth.
